The Scotland Now! Phone Portrait Awards 2026 photography competition, run by Scottish Arts Trust, has recently announced its shortlist.
The shortlisted entries will be part of an exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery – Portrait in the flesh. The exhibition opens on Saturday 28 November and runs to Sunday 11 April.
And… an image I took, called the twins of the cross has been shortlisted and will be part of the exhibition and on display at the National Galleries Scotland: Portrait on Queen Street, Edinburgh.
They received over 1,300 entries to Scotland Now! and my photograph is one of 60 images selected for the exhibition. In September, the three images the judges have chosen for the £500 first prize or highly commended awards will be revealed so here’s hoping, however, I’m really delighted to even have been shortlisted. The three chosen photographers will be invited to the preview of the MPB Scottish Portrait Awards on Thursday 26 November 2026 when the final results will be announced.
I really hope you can get along to see the exhibition, I’m so excited to have a first look.
Here’s a link to all the shortlisted entries.
